The last day of Charles III’s coronation, dubbed the ‘Big Help Out’, was dedicated to volunteering. On this occasion, the Cambridges have chosen to go to a scout camp, this Monday, May 8, to help renovate the premises.

Conviviality and mutual aid were the key words of this third – and last – day of the coronation. Called the “Big Help Out”, this Monday, May 8 was thus devoted, as is customary, to good volunteer actions. Kate Middleton, Prince William and their three children – George, Charlotte and Louis – chose to go to the scouts, in Slough in Berkshire, to help renovate a camp. On the program, however: archery, painting, ride in a backhoe loader and a taste of marshmallows.

Painting and DIY

Equipped with a two-tone scarf tied around the neck, the princely family went completely unnoticed in the midst of dozens of children and scout leaders. Throughout the day, each Cambridge has pitched in with great will. Like Prince Louis, who was seen carrying a wheelbarrow full of sand and even driving a digger, sitting on his father’s knees. George meanwhile has shown himself to be skilled at archery, while Princess Charlotte has also helped with the painting of wooden furniture.

Once the work was finished, the Prince and Princess of Wales had fun roasting marshmallows, before lending themselves to the game of the group photo with the members of the camp and their children. “They were very good at archery and really seemed to be having fun,” commented one of the people present, in the columns of the Daily Mail .

First official engagement

If Kate Middleton was particularly at ease, having herself been a scout during her childhood, this official engagement marked above all the first of little Prince Louis. Indeed, the boy has already accompanied his family several times during royal outings – we saw him in particular on Saturday at Westminster Abbey for the coronation of Charles III. However, he had never kept a commitment. That’s done.
