in favor of always celebrating successes

BarcelonaI have few certainties in life, but one thing is very clear to me: we must celebrate the good things. Always. That’s why I liked the Barça street through the streets of the city. I liked to see the male and the female, together. I was pleased to see people of all ages on the balconies. To see a lot of young people in the streets. In an age when screens sometimes, rather than bringing us closer, drive us away, these moments when people on the street can feel close to their idols are priceless.

You need to celebrate because you never know what will happen the next day. I have seen jokes towards Joan Laporta for having a big party in the dressing room with his players. Of all the criticisms, the one that seems most stupid to me is the one that states that someone, because they are of a certain age or have a position, no longer has the right to celebrate. There are people who claim that certain people are more boring than a bishop after a three-hour council. Luckily, Laporta doesn’t listen to these ideas, he always has.

Barça must celebrate with the recent past in mind. It cost a lot. Xavi can go with his head held high, having managed to win the League in a season in which so much has happened, which seems like a decade. The move to the Olympic Stadium, hearing time and time again that wages need to be cut, an economic debt that keeps growing, injuries, the Negreira case, the European scams, the pressure to sell some players a year ago now… Sometimes, being part of a club like Barça, which won everything not so long ago, creates a delusion: the feeling that winning is easy. No, it was never easy to win with Guardiola on the bench. And it’s even less easy to win now.

And Barça must celebrate with the future in mind. The dream of everyone in the club is to start a beautiful era, but no one guarantees you that. Changing stadiums will hurt; Laporta has opted for a model where you want to earn without prioritizing repaying the debt; the strong men in the sports area have announced that they are leaving, most recently Jordi Cruyff; you won’t be able to sign as much as you would like and the rivals are powerful. That’s why we need to celebrate now. It must be done in the houses and in the streets. You have to do it in the locker room and you have to do it on the grass. Yes, Barça had every right to celebrate on the turf of Espanyol’s stadium, as long as they didn’t make fun of the rival fans. Every team that reaches a milestone has the right to celebrate it at the scene, as Espanyol will have the right to do if they reach Almeria on the last day.

Always celebrate. On the Sunday of the derby, a server started it in Sabadell watching his team. With a win, we certified permanence in Primera RFEF. For a club with 14 years in Primera, celebrating staying in the third category of state football seems like a small thing, but after a tough year, hundreds of people jumped onto the pitch. Someone was half busy, saying that there was no need to celebrate. Seeing grandparents, parents and grandchildren gathered on the lawn, I thought otherwise. You should always celebrate and do it with your people. You never know what will happen tomorrow. And if anyone gets angry, let his liver hurt.
