Hebraica y Macabi defeated Nacional 84-72 at the Antel Arena and tied the final series of the Uruguayan Basketball League that will have its fifth game next Monday.

The game began with minutes of great parity and good defense, exchange of goals and few goals from the perimeter, betting on attacking the key in both. That until a triple from Parodi appeared, much more active than in the two previous matches to open a small gap (13-6).

In a first quarter with few fouls and with Oglivie intractable with his back to the hoop, the Maccabees closed the quarter 23-18.

The second ten minutes began with all the success that had been elusive in the blues in the opportunity with triples by Brian García, Parodi and Henriquez for a 10-0 lead that led them 34-28.

Sixteen units that were uphill for the tricolors who relied on Johnson as their main weapon, but lacked the presence of the others, well controlled.

Three pointers by Henriquez got into the game and bad offensive decisions by Barriola and Mcghee gave those led by Zylberstein the lead 45-31 towards the long break.

In the third quarter, the tricolors tried to give their attack another intensity and fight much more offensive rebounds to begin to discount, with Branden Frazier taking the reins to score and get within ten 53-44.

When things got tough, Oglivie was the solution near the basket to take the lead and score, a situation that Ponce couldn’t find a way to counter.

The final ten minutes began with Alejandro Acosta taking responsibility for the whites, but with an exchange in scoring that did not allow him to discount too much.

70-59 was the result for the visitors on the occasion, who distributed the score and wanted the clock to do its job towards closing.

The truth is that with less than five minutes remaining, Nacional dropped double digits, it was at eight, which gave it a boost to fight the duel towards the end.

A three-pointer from Haller and consecutive losses of the tricolores were turning off a reaction that seemed to arrive late in the match, although it never gave up.

By force of free kicks they narrowed the gap (75-68) to get to seven with 2′ of action, in a transaction that was gaining heat in the exchanges between the players.

A foul by Johnson on Haller with an unsportsmanlike foul on Romero later gave him four free and ball, which ended in a triple by Henriquez (82-68) fourteen away and to think about the final of the coming Monday.

From there to the close it was a journey towards the final result that closed at 84-72 in favor of Hebraica and Macabi over Nacional to equalize the series 2-2.

In the winner, Federico Haller finished with 18 points and 7 rebounds, Ernesto Oglivie had 20 points and 9 rebounds, Adonis Henriquez 18 points and Luciano Parodi 15.

In the whites, Branden Frazier stood out with 19 points, plus five rebounds and four assists, accompanied by Jaylen Johnson with 18 and 13 rebounds.
