Haaland breaks the scoring record in a Premier season

Manchester City beats West Ham (3-0) and recovers the lead in the game in which the Norwegian makes history

He Manchester City signed his ninth straight victory in Premier to maintain the lead in his fight for the title with the Arsenal, with a 3-0 against West Ham. The protagonist of the triumph was Erling Haaland, who broke the scoring record in the English league in one season.

The Norwegian, who has 51 goals in all competitions, left behind the records of Andy Cole and Alan Shearer, who scored 34 in the 1993-1994 and 1994-1995 seasons, respectively, although, yes, in leagues with 42 games and not 38 like the current one. At the end of the game his teammates made him a corridor.

In his first campaign in the Premier, Haaland has pulverized all scoring records and still has five games to go to frame a historic figure.

To his 35 goals in the Premier we must add the 12 he has in the Champions League, in which he could still play three more games, three in the FA Cup, in which he will play the final against Manchester United, and one in the League Cup.

On the horizon, Haaland still has several records to compete for this season, such as Cristiano Ronaldo’s 17 goals in the same ‘Champions’, or the five ‘hat tricks’ he scored in Premier Alan Shearer in 1995.

Triumph worked

Pep Guardiola’s team had to work on their victory against a West Ham fighting for permanence. A goal from Nathan Ake at the beginning of the second half opened the can for a City that again pulled the Haaland machine, history of the Premier with only 31 games played, to consolidate the lead after the victory on Tuesday of an Arsenal that rushes your options.
