By dominating the top 12 of the men’s teams, the Association Sportive Vallauris Golfe Juan won its very first title of French gymnastics champion.
On the side of Rouen, while Avoine won her third title of champion of France among women, Vallauris caused a sensation among men. In the final, the Riviera club decided to start on the ground, a strategy that paid off with the victory of young Axel Brèche over Lorenzo Sainte Rose with only 0.05 point lead. The scenario is repeated on the following duel between Alexis Blin and Léo Saladino, this time in favor of Noisy who also wins the last duel thanks to Hamza Hossaini.
However, Vallauris did not let it go and won the three pommel duels and thus took the lead. If Vallauris again won the next duel, the first on rings thanks to Léo Saladino, Noisy managed to win the next two duels with Alexis Blin and Hamza Hossaini by a few cents. The battle continued to be fierce as Noisy came back to score in the first duel on vault thanks to Lorenzo Sainte-Rose. The green team also wins the next duel. On the other hand, the two teams did not manage to decide between themselves during the last duel on the apparatus and each won 2 points.

But once again, Vallauris returns thanks to the victory of Léo Saladino on the parallel bars. Then Lorenzo Sainte-Rose allows Noisy to regain the advantage before Matteo Levantesi, the Italian international equalizes again. The suspense was therefore at its height at the fixed. Vallauris wins the last three duels. The team from the South region thus achieves a historic performance and wins its very first Top 12 title.
“I’m happy, we had a great game! », rejoices Leo Saladino. “Our opponents of the day were very strong so I am very happy to win this competition with my teammates. It was very tight throughout the competition, we really thought we were going to win during the penultimate duel on high bar when Matteo Levantesi won. I think it didn’t go as planned for both teams, we were thinking of doing more on rings and Noisy on pommel. It’s gymnastics, it never goes as planned, we fought until the end and time that Matteo had not won his duel nothing was written yet. When we started this season we had the objective of going all the way but we didn’t really expect to win like all the teams. We took game by game, we reached the final and we are very proud of it. »
