Gabriel Deck suffered a rupture of the internal collateral ligament of the left knee on May 5th facing the Partisan in the semifinals of the Euroleague.

And in full recovery, Tortuga He enjoyed with his teammates the consecration in the European tournament that took place in a heart-stopping final against Olympiacos in Lithuania. The forward from Santiago, a fundamental piece of the team, had the pleasure of celebrating the title with the Merengue squad.

The new title in Old continent meant the 17th consecration of Tortuga, in a career as rich as it is impressive. And in dialogue with the program “Good Day Santiago” that is broadcast by Radio Panorama, the one born in Dora Colony expressed his feelings.

“Being champion again with Real Madrid in a competition as difficult as the Euroleague makes me very happy and I am enjoying this moment despite recovering from my injury. I was able to be with my teammates in Lithuania and be able to lift the cup with them in a season in which I was in every game. Being able to win a title like this is something unique, since few Argentine players did it and achieving it makes me proud and gives me strength to continue with the goal of achieving similar titles”.

“It is a pride to represent Santiago worldwide. I think this would not have been possible without the support of all the people of Santiago and mainly Quimsa, where I started. Its leaders like Gerardo Montenegro, the gringo Tomás Corona whom I always remember and talk to and as well as many people from the club whom I have to thank. Without the support of my family I could not be at the highest level, today you can see all the effort and support not only from Quimsa but also from Santiago’s basketball. I hope to continue representing Santiago for many more years and hopefully good things will continue to come.”

“A piece of advice for boys who are starting out in basketball or in another sport would be to tell them about my experience, to be as professional as possible at all times, let them help each other, listen to all the advice and never forget where one came from, that’s what is the essence that comes to my head every time I get something. That they continue forward, that it is always possible, even without having the necessary tools and always with humility. If you’re not a good person, tomorrow people will turn their heads on you. That they focus on what they want and fight for their dreams, that everything comes.”
