Forwards Lapinskis and Buncis do not continue their work in the national team

Forwards Oskars Lapinskis and Filips Buncis will not continue the fight for a place in the Latvian men’s hockey team for participation in the upcoming world championships in Riga and Tampere, reports the Latvian Hockey Federation (LHF).

Lapinskis will not be able to continue participating in the camp of the national team after the injury he received in the game against Denmark, and Buncis has also been excluded from the national team.

The Latvian national team, preparing for the world championship, won and lost to Polish, Great Britain and Swiss hockey players in test matches, as well as beat Denmark away from home.

Lauris Dārziņš, Artūrs Irbe, Artis Ābols, Peteri Nummelins and Raimonds Vilkoits assist the head coach Harry Vītoliņš in his work with the national team.

The World Championship, which will be held jointly in the Finnish cities of Tampere and Riga, will take place from May 12 to 28.

One group match will take place in Riga, where Canada, the Czech Republic, Switzerland, Slovakia, Latvia, Norway, Kazakhstan and Slovenia will compete, as well as two quarter-final matches.
