If a Landsberg X-Press footballer has already started for TV Erlangen in the Judo Bundesliga a few hours before the game against the Munich Rangers, this is certainly not part of the obligatory preparation. And in the narrow and hard-fought 22:20 win against the Rangers in the football regional league, the footballer was one of the athletes who received special praise from Landsberg head coach Gabriel Chambers: “The defense saved the game for us.” It is to believe that this man only started playing football two years ago?
We’re talking about Elias Frank, a defensive specialist on the X-Press team. The 27-year-old was born in Nuremberg. His father was not only a teacher at a school, but also a judo trainer, so it is not surprising that Elias Frank had his first experiences on the mat at the age of eight. “Ball sports just didn’t interest me,” says the Franconian, “there was only a short detour to horseback riding, but when my friends stopped doing it, that was done for me too.”
