FLAG FOOTBALL. Soldiers girls win one and lose another, in the first phase of the Rio Grande do Sul event

This Sunday (21), the first stage of the 2023 Gaucho Flag Football Women’s Championship took place in Erechim, with the presence of the Santa Maria Soldiers team, which ended with 1 victory and 1 defeat. Lions Flag Football, from Porto Alegre, was the highlight of the weekend with 3 wins and no losses.

The home team of Erechim Coroados failed to win matches. The current champions of Carlos Barbosa Ximangos, on the other hand, won one and lost another. The last duel of the round, between the “Ximangas” and the Santa Maria, was transferred to the next stage – which will be held on June 25th -, due to the lack of lighting in the field used.

In this way, the “Leoes” secured themselves in first place and play against Erechinenses, in the semifinal. Even with the match between Soldiers and Ximangos remaining for the initial phase, it is already confirmed that the two teams will also face each other in the first game of the knockout stage.

So, it is possible that the game that would be held in this stage is canceled, and only the semifinal is played. The next round of the 2023 Gaucho Flag Football Championship will take place on June 25, in the city of Carlos Barbosa. More information about the broadcast of the clashes will be released soon.
