Ewerton, Hronek, Pech and others. What will happen to the idle players in Slavia?

The season is over and one of the most challenging periods of the year begins for the management of any club. Composition of the squad for next season. The situation is no different with Slavia, which every year has a loaded wide squad, but in which a few players are not busy. What about them?

One departure has already been announced, leader Petr Olayinka left Slavia. The contract also ends with Jan Matoušek, who has spent the last few years on loan, so the stitchers will at least no longer have to worry about a piece of the salary that they paid Matoušek.

Further departures are still unclear. The contract ends for Jan Bořil, Stanislav Tecl and Mick van Buren. Their future is hard to predict.

For this, the departures of the supports must also be taken into account. There is great interest from abroad in Ondřej Linger and David with Matěj Jurásek.

On the contrary, Michal Tomič should return from loan. The question mark is over Moses Usor, Maksym Talovierov and Eduardo Santos, who are on loan with an option. It is not yet clear whether Austrian LASK or Brazilian Bragantino will exercise the options.

The first arrival is Mojmír Chytil from Olomouc. Jindřich Trpišovský said that he would like two more reinforcements – one stopper similar to Ogbu and one striker.

Players on the edge

However, it remains to be resolved what to do with the players who are currently on the edge of the squad. The first is Ewerton. The Brazilian arrived last summer as one of the stars of the league, he experienced the season of his life in Mladá Boleslav.

The beginning of his engagement in Eden was not bad, but after a severe injury in the match with Zlín he did not get into shape at all. He was also plagued by another injury, so in 2023 he only played in four competitive matches, three in the league.

What about him now? There is some hosting involved, possibly a hard sell. However, the fact that Ewerton would take over and get in shape is not ruled out either. In addition, the left wing is free after the departure of Peter Olayinka, and a new chance appears. But the Brazilian would have to really screw it up.

Petr Hronek is next on the edge of the squad. The combative midfielder came from Bohemians in the winter and it cannot be said that he did not get a chance. He played around half an hour with Pardubice and Zbrojovka, and got 56 minutes in Teplice and Slovácko.

But then he dropped out of the lineup and started only three times for a few minutes. The last appearance in the red and white jersey was the 3:3 derby at Letná, when he burned a huge chance from a small goal and caused a foul in the last minute of regulation, from which Sparta could still score the winning goal. Since then, he has not started and played only for the B team.

It cannot be assumed that he would make a significant impact in the lineup. The midfield is very loaded, as are the wings. Trpišovský also showed that he doesn’t count on him much.

A different case of Pech

The third to the party is David Pech. Here the situation is completely different. The young all-rounder came with huge potential, which he has yet to fulfill. He got his first chance in the starting lineup against Teplice, but the match did not go well for him and he was substituted in the 33rd minute. He only got another bigger chance in the league in the derby against Sparta, when he played a decent half.

By the end of the league season, however, he did not start just twice out of eight games, each time for around 20 minutes against Bohemians. However, Pech will definitely not be cursed, he just has to get his health back, take a physical, complete a complete training and he can be a valid player. However, hosting is also not excluded.

But there is another name whose future is not resolved. Daniel Fila came in last winter with great potential, but is currently very much in the background in the forward hierarchy. The guest stay in Teplice can be rated as half-successful, at first he was injured for a long time, but towards the end of the season he got into it and helped save the game with four goals.

But with the arrival of Chytil and possibly another foreign attacker, his position is very uncertain. Another year of guest hosting awaits.
