Giving information about the tournament, Ege University Faculty of Sports Sciences Dean and Turkish University Sports Federation Aegean Region Representative Prof. Dr. Timuçin Gençer said, “3×3 basketball is a game played by two teams of three each in a single basket. This team sport, which spreads rapidly with each passing day and is extremely enjoyable to play and watch, has become an Olympic branch in a short time like 10 years, supported by FIBA. As Ege University, we are happy to host the Turkish Championship finals Aegean region group competitions organized by the Turkish University Sports Federation for the 2022-2023 academic year, with our modern facilities.
Aegean, Pamukkale, Muğla Sıtkı Koçman, Dokuz Eylül, İzmir Economy, Celal Bayar, İzmir Bakırçay, Katip Çelebi, İskenderun University and İzmir Concept Vocational School teams competed.

What is the “3×3 Turkish Basketball Tournament”?

Exciting, dynamic and innovative 3×3 Basketball is inspired by street basketball in different formats played all over the world. In the matches, two teams of three meet in a standard half-court. Teams consisting of 3 main and 1 substitute players play 10-minute matches in the half-court (one pot). In matches with an attack time of 12 seconds, player substitution is unlimited, and a team foul is applied instead of an individual foul. NEWS CENTER
