Eintracht Frankfurt has confirmed the next new signing. A great talent comes from TSG Hoffenheim and will initially play in the U19s.

Frankfurt – The plans at Eintracht Frankfurt for the new season have been in full swing for a long time. But not only the professional team needs reinforcements for the next season, the club’s U21s, who have just been promoted to the Regionalliga Südwest, and the U19s, who are at home in the A-Jugend Bundesliga Süd/Südwest, also need fresh blood.

Eintracht Frankfurt: New signing for U19

A great talent comes from TSG Hoffenheim to the Main and should take the next step in his career. As Eintracht Frankfurt confirmed, Rafail Savvidis will move to Riederwald in the summer and strengthen the club’s U19s. The 17-year-old comes on a free transfer because his contract with the Kraichgauers expires on June 30, 2023.

“Rafail Savvidis is an offensive all-rounder who can play as a right winger and as a hanging striker. He is technically adept, very fast and has a good nose for goals. We were looking for a versatile winger – and are therefore very happy to have won Rafail for us,” Patrick Ochs, sporting director of the U16 to U21, is quoted as saying on the club’s website.

“With us, he has the opportunity to take the next steps in development in the U19s and then to gain a foothold in the U21s,” Ochs continued about the 17-year-old, who has made 16 appearances in the U17 Bundesliga this season South/Southwest, in which he scored six goals and set up eight more.

Eintracht Frankfurt: Savvidis comes on a free transfer

Savvidis was born in Leonberg, Baden-Württemberg, and began playing soccer at SKV Rutesheim. The offensive player then went via the Stuttgarter Kickers station to TSG Hoffenheim, for which he has been active since the 2019/20 season. In the past season he was used for the U17 of the Kraichgauer.

The German-Greek offensive player is both footed and was mainly used as a right winger. The 17-year-old can also be used as a center forward and in attacking midfield. (smr)
