Eight national records were broken at the Artunduaga Sports Center in Basauri (Vizcaya) during the Spanish Athletics Championship. The event, the last in which minimum marks could be accredited for the World Cup in Paris this summer, had nearly 300 participants, including some of the athletes who competed in the Tokyo Paralympic Games, such as Adi Iglesias , Gerard Descarrega, Sara Martínez, Yassine Ouhdadi, Alba García, Nagore Folgado, Sara Fernández, Desirée Vila, Sara Andrés Barrio, Alberto Suárez, Álvaro del Amo, Eduardo Uceda or Mari Carmen Paredes.

One of the protagonists was Michell Navarro, a player from the Spanish wheelchair basketball team, who exchanged the orange ball for the throwing circle to achieve two Spanish records in the F57 category. In weight, he made the steel ball fly up to 8.43 meters, far exceeding the 4.16 that María José Albero had since 2016, and later in discus with a mark of 22.08 meters, easily surpassing a record that was in hands of Amparo Vivero since 1993 with 12.72.

The Valencian Judith Tortosa achieved the record in 100 meters in the T72 category in the Frame Running modality (formerly Race Running) with a time of 19.38 seconds. The young Carolina Yuste reached 4.60 meters over the sand pit to set a new Spanish record in the long jump T13. Two-time Paralympic champion in the 400-meter T11 (Rio de Janeiro 2016 and Tokyo 2020) Gerard Descarrega broke the record in the 100-meter dash with Guillermo Rojo as his guide after crossing the finish line in 11.26 seconds.

Álvaro Jiménez from Malaga did it in the F41 shot put with 8.39 meters, while in the same test in the F55 category, Igor Delgado set the record at 8.97 meters. And Irene Aragón Vadillo, a deaf athlete from CDS Cantabria, stopped the clock in 13.37 seconds in the 100-meter event, which is also a national record. The Ascensores Bertako Javi Conde Athletics Club has revalidated the title of champion, followed by Run for You, from Madrid, and in third position has been Illers Balears XT.
