Carlos Iglesias (Madrid, July 15, 1955) is a Spanish actor, film director and screenwriter.

Biography

The son of emigrants, he lived in Switzerland until he was 13 years old and later in Madrid and Alicante. He became an actor by chance, substituting for a sick actor in an independent theater group. He studied at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art (RESAD). He became known in the role of Ashes in the Pepe Navarro program (Tonight we cross the Mississippi). He later he was one of the protagonists of the popular and successful series Let’s do itBenito, better known as «the introducer of gotelé in this country». This series brought him a lot of fame due to its audiences that sometimes exceeded 6 million viewers. He has become a director and screenwriter with the film One Franc, 14 pesetas in which he tells the life of a Spanish emigrant in Switzerland based on his own personal experience from his childhood.
