Dead rats result in a fine of 5,000 euros for Charleroi, Standard and Antwerp fined for pyro | Jupiler Pro League

Before the Walloon derby had even started, the fans had provided a pyro decor. Fireworks were also lit during the game, in the 66th minute referee Lawrence Visser had to stop the game and called the captains.

After that, the game could be played without incident, with a 3-1 result after 90 minutes. Still, dead rats in the stands still startled Standard fans.

“Standard’s security officer informed me that rats were being thrown from the side section into Grandstand 2,” the Match Delegate reported.

The result: a fine for both clubs. In total good for a match that cost 11,000 euros extra.

Antwerp was also fined by the Disciplinary Committee on Wednesday. The Great Old has to pay 5,000 euros with a delay because his fans misbehaved with pyrotechnic material in the second leg of the Croky Cup semi-final against Union.

The second half therefore had to start later. One of them also came on the field during extra time.

The Bondsparket already mitigated the advanced sentence from 10,000 to 5,000 euros, because Antwerp is seen as “the best student in the class” in the field of pyroprevention.

With sweeps of the grandstands, risk analyzes for each game, and great efforts to identify and punish, Antwerp is making “enormous efforts” to contain misconduct. For that reason, a postponement of the fine was also granted.

The man who came on the field between the first and second extra time was immediately banned from the stadium for three months.
