De Meo and the strategies of Pallacanestro Trieste: «The Varese case is not closed»

TRIESTE «The relegation was a hard blow, but we believe it could be a real and concrete opportunity to renew the club and start again. Rebirth takes time, dialogue, reflection. Everyone in Pallacanestro Trieste is sorry, everyone must push towards the maximum improvement: in the first place there is the need to restart».

Richard De Meo, president of Pallacanestro Trieste, yesterday sent a message to the red and white fans taking stock of the open issues in view of next season.

LEGAL ANALYSIS The Varese case, the management by the Fip of a penalty reduced twice, from 24 to 16 and then closing to 11 points, inevitably influenced the season finale and the race for salvation. Trieste paid the costs and now, also in the light of the failure to publish the reasons that led to partially accepting the Varese appeal, partially disavowing the prosecutor’s theses, wants to see clearly.

«CSG has commissioned a team of Italian lawyers to conduct a detailed analysis of the situations that occurred at the end of the 2022-’23 season – underlines De Meo – The analysis activity is underway, and we are planning how to act”.

MANAGEMENT «The already announced integration and modification of the current management of Pallacanestro Trieste is underway, and will become operational in June. Mario Ghiacci will remain on the board of directors of Pallacanestro Trieste and will also assume a role of support and advice to the company and the team. CSG is therefore finalizing the new organizational chart, starting with the choice of the new General Manager».

OPERATION «All departments of the company are working and functioning, in close liaison with CSG. The reorganization required reflection and now requires technical times that cannot be compressed, because they represent the foundation for next season’s results. CSG acquired the company midway through last season; since then, the changes needed to make the organization more efficient have been identified and will materialize during the summer. These innovations will be implemented regardless of whether the team will play in Serie A2».

MARKET Once the new general manager has been chosen and the knot linked to technical management clarified, we will start thinking about the workforce in view of next season.

«We are active on the European and US markets in preparation for next season. We have activated direct relationships and through consultants to ensure that we are ready for success. As soon as the governance of the company is integrated, a synthesis will be made”. —
