Anthony Davis is likely to be available for the Los Angeles Lakers in the crucial sixth game of the NBA playoff series against the Golden State Warriors.
That’s what Lakers coach Darvin Ham said.
Davis suffered an elbow in the head in the lost game against the defending champions the day before and was unable to play in the closing stages. “He has no symptoms and is listed as likely for tomorrow,” Ham said. In the NBA the health status of ailing players is published every day.
Ham emphasized Davis’ importance to the Lakers. “It’s huge. He’s the centerpiece of everything we aim to do on both sides of the pitch,” said Ham. “So that’s really, really good news.”
National team captain Dennis Schröder is doing well despite his Achilles tendon problems, Ham reported. “I assume he’s out there in full force and doing his thing.”
The Lakers are 3-2 after five games in the Western Conference semifinals. A team needs four wins to advance to the Western Conference Finals. The next game on Saturday night is in Los Angeles, a possible game seven would again be played in San Francisco.
