Coto fights in the World Cup in Qatar

From 4:30 (Argentina time), Mariano Coto will be the last representative of the Argentine Judo Confederation (CAJ) to step on the tatami, in Qatar, producing his debut in a Senior World Cup.

BIG RIVER.- Located 99th in the world ranking of the -90 kilos category (there are 58 scored for this contest), Coto (22 years old) will seek to score points in his attempt to be part of the Paris 2024 Olympic Games. And in the last quarter of this year will go to the 19th Pan American Games, in Santiago de Chile.

In front of him this morning will be Yahor Varapayeu, 26, a native of Belarus, who due to the war between Russia and Ukraine -and which also involves his country- carries the Neutral Athletes flag.

In case of being successful in said commitment, the Fuegian athlete will see himself in the second round (16th final) with whoever wins the duel between Mihael Turzgank (Turkey) and Remi Mihaelmrifeuillet (Mauritania).

The attached table shows the main fights at the international level (and within the scope of the International Judo Federation) that took place at the Municipal Judo School of this city. In 2022, Coto was also runner-up in the 12th South American Games, in Asunción del Paraguay.
