Costa Rica prepares for the Special Olympics World Summer Games

The Special Olympics World Summer Games are the largest inclusive sports event in the world and in its 16th edition, which will be held in Berlin, Germany, Costa Rica will be part of one of the largest delegations made up of 146 people.

Of the 23 individual and team sports that will take place in Berlin from June 17 to 25, Costa Rica will compete in 15 of them: swimming, athletics, beach volleyball, basketball, rhythmic gymnastics, field tennis, table tennis, bocce , cycling, judo, powerlifting and kayaking; Futsal, handball and equestrian are added to them for the first time in the process.

For its part, the national delegation will go to Germany with 91 athletes, 16 unified, 35 coaches, a doctor and 3 official delegates; Without a doubt, once again our country will stand out in these world fairs as one of the largest representations.

In total, Berlin will receive 7,000 athletes, 190 delegations representing countries from all over the world who will compete in 23 sports, more than 20,000 volunteers and families who will live a great sports festival for 9 days where Costa Rica has won over the years and its participation to be recognized sportingly as a power.
