A misstep by Ja Morant caused unrest in the professional basketball league NBA. Commissioner Adam Silver and the NBA want to investigate the case.

NBA Commissioner Adam Silver has reacted with complete incomprehension to basketball star Ja Morant’s recent misstep.

“Honestly I was shocked when I saw the video this weekend,” Silver said, adding that Morant is under investigation: “We are investigating the case. We’ll find out exactly what happened as best we can. The video is a little blurry, but I’m assuming the worst.”

Morant had repeatedly appeared with a gun in an Instagram live video. The Memphis Grizzlies suspended the 23-year-old as they did two months ago for a similar clip.

Morant apologizes

Morant took a stand and apologized for the action. “I know I’ve disappointed a lot of people who have supported me,” Morant said in his statement. “This is a long journey and I know there’s still a lot to do. My words don’t like much at the moment mean, but I take full responsibility for my actions. I am determined to keep working on myself.”

Memphis failed in the first playoff round at the end of April at the Los Angeles Lakers (2:4).
