The Collecte verte organized in the context of Earth Day was a huge success on April 23. Presented by the Caisse Desjardins Des Rivières de Québec, the bi-annual event collected obsolete electrical, computer or electronic equipment free of charge. More than 2,150 people came out to divert nearly 16.2 tonnes of material harmful to the environment from landfill. All electronic products collected during the collection have been taken care of by the Recycle my electronics™ program of EPRA-Québec. The next green collection will be on October 22, during Quebec Waste Reduction Week. On the photo, some of the volunteers of the Green Collection.
