Steffen Baumgart extends early at 1. FC Köln. It’s about another year. The extension is based on an agreement.

Steffen Baumgart has prematurely extended his contract with 1. FC Köln.

The 51-year-old agreed with the billy goats to continue working together for a year until June 30, 2025. The extension is based on an agreement reached in the previous season.

“We made a clear agreement last year: If it suits everyone, we’ll extend the contract for another year. That’s out of the question for me. Why? Because I really enjoy working for FC and with my team. You see that every day,” Baumgart is quoted as saying in an official statement.

Baumgart: “Can still achieve a lot”

One has “always spoken of a path, and I am convinced that this is not yet over. We can still achieve a lot here,” the Bundesliga coach continued.

Cologne Managing Director welcomes the early extension: “The overall development speaks for itself. Steffen and his team of coaches work with our team consistently and systematically along a clear game idea. Many players have seen a positive personal performance development as a result,” said the 46-year-old.

Cologne are in eleventh place in the Bundesliga and can no longer be relegated.
