Club Atlético Once Unidos

The inferiors tell their story

In this new section we fully immerse ourselves in the club’s youth academies and we tell you in first person how the little ones live the experience of coming to train, as well as their feelings and what the practices are like on a day-to-day basis in the disciplines. Today is the turn of basketball and judo sports, for that we have the word of Juani and Ana.

My name is Juan Ignacio Pardo. and I am 11 years old. I’ve been here at the club for a year and a half training with the mini. The first thing I do every Monday, Thursday and Friday before coming to train is to leave school, then I come home for lunch and finish all my homework so I can come to train calmly.

As soon as I finish doing all my school things, I prepare my clothes, change and go to the new sports center. When we arrive, there are always a lot of basketballs going around the court so we start practicing with the ball before starting the activities that the teachers give us.

Once the training starts, we do different activities. Sometimes we have practices that are physical, other times individual techniques, and we practice different types of shots, such as layups, free throws, or jump shots. The part that I like the most about coming to train is when we play games with all my teammates.

To end with the one-on-one, Juani stressed that if he had to leave a message to any boy who wants to join the club, he would say that enjoy it and that come to train it has to be your decision. In addition to the fact that the club and the teammates are very good.

This is the way Juani chose to tell us how he lives day to day in training and how his day before training is, we also spoke with Ana who told us about her experience:

I am 9 years old, Since December last year I started practicing judo with Professor Pablo. On Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays, before coming to train I always do the homework they give me at school and once I finish it I put on my kimono, I get ready to come to the dojo and start training, which consists of teamwork, We also review all the maneuvers and prepare for tournaments.

To close, Ana highlighted that in the club “everyone treats you with love” and that although it is a sport that requires a lot of physical contact, if one of the teammates gets hit “nothing happens”. In addition, he stressed that “if someone wants to come and train the sport at the club, I would tell them to do it because it is something very nice”
