Civil Protection, the Campania Region allocates 180 thousand euros for the School Camps

The Campania Region financed with 180 thousand euros 51 School camps of the Civil Protection. The project is aimed at children aged between 10 and 16 who will have the opportunity to participate in a week of recreational activities aimed at learning the best practices of civil protection. The initiative, called “I too am the civil defense” and promoted by the National Department of Civil Protection, identifies the game as a teaching method to dialogue with children and encourage dynamics of comparison, exchange and growth between them. Fun and education are the key words of the school camps, which offer playful activities, but also a busy educational program dedicated to the knowledge of the Civil Protection System, of the natural risks to which the territories are exposed, also with reference to the effects of climate change as well as municipal civil protection plans.

The details

Among the objectives of the project: to encourage the protection of the forest and naturalistic heritage, to raise awareness among the youngest regarding self-protection measures, but also to stimulate and promote sensitivity and awareness in children (and in communities) about the civic value of active citizenship and participates in the state of the environment and of the territory and promote knowledge of civil protection activities as useful tools for the safety not only of the environment, but also and above all of the citizen. The 51 school camps financed by the Campania Region and coordinated by the Civil Protection regional, distributed over the five provinces, are added to the 10 already financed by the National Department of Civil Protection for the regional territory and will be organized between next July and August by the voluntary associations operating in the regional territory that adhere to the initiative. The modalities for the adhesion of the boys to the school camps will be established by each adhering voluntary organization as soon as the procedure is completed.
