Chris Paul also ruled out for Game 6

The Phoenix Suns will have to face their possible elimination without Chris Paul. The point guard, who was injured in the second game of the series against Denver, has also been ruled out for Game 6, in which Monty Williams’ men need to win if they want to stay alive in these playoffs.

“He is being able to exercise more, that’s for sure,” commented the coach when asked about him. “I’d like to establish a cause-and-effect relationship and say ‘if he’s doing more that means…’ but I’m going to be cautious because I haven’t received any reports yet that tell me if he’s 80%, 90% or whatever.”

According to Tim MacMahon, a journalist for ESPN, during the day on Wednesday, Paul was doing individual intense exercises shooting behind the dribble and moving triples, first with some teammates and then individually. His status for a hypothetical Game 7 is still up in the air, but what is clear is that if, with his team playing a life-and-death game, he cannot be on the court, he is running short of time to be in said seventh game.

Ayton is doubt

Phoenix may also have to deal with the loss of Deandre Ayton, who has been placed on the doubtful list with a bruised rib. The center has not missed any duel in the series, but his impact has been so reduced that he has been missed as much as Paul. Even so, it would not be good news for those from Arizona to lose more troops in the face of the most important clash of the season, so we will have to be attentive to the news regarding their condition.
