Chanmin Jung premier leader du Maekyung Open

Chanmin Yung returned a superb card of 63 (-8, 1 eagle on hole number 9, 7 birdies, 1 bogey). The South Korean is just two strokes away from equaling the course record (61), set in 2001. The 23-year-old golfer is thus two steps ahead of his compatriot Kyongjun Moon (-6). The latter, winner of the tournament in 2015, scored 65 (8 birdies, 2 bogeys).

The well-placed defending champion

The podium is completed by Miguel Carballo, only 3rd (-5). The Argentinian finished the Namseoul Country Club course, without error, in 66 shots, thanks to 5 birdies, including two on the last two holes. The top 10 is then completed by a group of seven South Korean players at -4. We find Jeongwoo Ham, Heungchol Joo, Hosung Choi, Innchoon Hwang, Junghwan Lee, Hyunuk Kim, amateur player and Bio Kim. Author of 9 birdies and 3 bogeys, the defending champion was somewhat penalized by a double bogey at hole number 10. He still manages with a solid card of 67 at the end of this first round.
