CB Armilla prepares for its great basketball party

Next Saturday, May 6, the CBA Men’s National1 team – Hita Plásticos- will play the return match against CB Andújar, corresponding to the promotion phase to the EBA league, at 6:00 p.m. at the Rafael Machado municipal sports complex Villar.

It will be a historic meeting for the city of Armilla, since it is the first time that such a circumstance occurs in the armillero sport. After the end of the regular phase, CB Armilla, the 1st National men’s team, qualified for the promotion play-offs as the first in Andalusia through great attacking and defensive performance and with a base of players raised in his quarry. Despite the defeat in the first leg of the quarterfinals by ten points, Armilla’s team is still very much alive and is preparing a great basketball party to accompany his team on this historic day.

For the first time in 15 years of history, the Armilla Basketball Club will play a playoff to get promoted to the EBA league and make the club’s great dream come true. At the break of the game, between 6:30 p.m. and 6:40 p.m., there will be a public recognition of teams and people from the club: Junior Men, Grupo Sani CBA for 3rd place in the special provincial FAB league; Mini Masculino, Restaurant Antonio Pérez CBA champion provincial FAB preferential league; Coaches who have been part of the Granada teams; Players who have played in the Granada teams; Junior Female, Provincial League champion; Senior Women, National League, Antonio Pérez CBA Restaurant.

For this reason, Antonio Melo, the club’s coach, has insisted on the importance of this historic day for the municipality of Armilla where the match will be the culmination of a great party that will begin from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. with sports tournaments that will face to parents and children and different contests (mates, 3X3, pachangas, raffles…). These will be the prelude to a meeting of families who will eat together to recharge their batteries for an afternoon full of emotions. Before the game, there will be a recognition of the successes of the different categories of CB Armilla, with special mention of its women’s team, which is, together with the men’s national team, one of the main assets of the club.

Then will come that key confrontation for promotion where CB Armilla will have to come back. The armillero team hopes to leave behind that “bad day” that they had in the first round match and that caused them to miss the match. However, Melo highlights that day the team’s ability to recover and close the gap so that this Saturday, May 6, in the second leg, that distance will only be ten points. The coach has recognized that it was not his day and this has also helped them to learn for this second and final game. If any reading has been essentially taken by the coaching staff and players from that match, it is the importance of managing the “mental aspect” well, which they have been influencing since that defeat. All Armilla, including its mayoress, who will also be present at the event, hopes that this historic day can end in the best way, with a victory that gives access to that ‘Final Four’.

The objective of the CBA Men’s National1 team is to sneak into that Final Four, to which only the winners of these quarterfinals will have access. All the teams fighting for these four places are, in addition to CB Armilla and CB Andújar, Climanavas Agrometal Peñarroya, CB El Palo, Club Náutico Sevilla, CB Coria, CB Benalmádena and CB Baza.
