Buses with Czechs are approaching Latvia; A charter flight of Swiss hockey fans arrives in Riga / Article

On Friday, a charter flight from Zurich arrived in Riga with 188 passengers, but the group of Swiss fans is not limited to that, as fans also go there on regular flights.

The influx of Czech fans could be much greater.

Vojteks Beranek, a representative of the Czech Travel Sport company, which organizes hockey fans’ trips to the championships, told LSM.lv that there are at least 16 buses with fans on their way to Riga, and many also arrive in Riga by plane. As a result, the number of Czech fans at the weekend’s games will be larger than in previous games.

“Riga is a very good hockey destination for us,” Beranek said in a conversation with LSM.lv, stressing that Prague is easily and conveniently reached by bus from Riga, so the costs are not that high, which the Czechs really like. It is true that the expenses on the spot in Riga are higher than previously thought, but in general Latvia is a much more grateful destination than Tampere.
