Bronny James makes college decision and starts for USC Trojans next season

Bronny James will play for the USC Trojans in college next season. This was announced by LeBron James’ son via Instagram.

The 18-year-old has played for Sierra Canyon for the past four years and is considered one of the top five point guards in his class. LeBron’s son most recently competed in the prestigious McDonald’s All American Game and was also invited to the Hoop Summit in Portland. He now announced via Instagram that he had decided on the USC Trojans.

“I’m so damn proud of you boy,” LeBron commented on his son’s decision in a separate post. In addition to USC, Oregon and Ohio State were also in the draw, and the G-League and the NBL’s Australian youth program also competed for the guard’s services.

Ultimately, James chose the Trojans, who recently brought out Evan Mobley (Cavaliers). “I spoke to the coaches and it was good to find out that they really want me there,” said the 18-year-old on the sidelines of the Hoop Summit, without revealing which university he was talking about.

In any case, the competition at USC is fierce. A returning guard, Boogie Ellis, was selected to the Pac-12 All-Conference Team, while Isaiah Collier also selected the Trojans. He is traded as a lottery pick, which is also true for James. ESPN ranked the teenager at one point 10th in his mock draft and 19th among the best players in his high school class.

It is still completely unclear whether James will ultimately only stay at college for a year and will register for the NBA draft as early as 2024. LeBron has never tired of emphasizing in the past that his goal is to play alongside his son at the end of his career.
