Boston wins in Miami and stays alive in Eastern Conference Finals (video)

The Boston Celtics, led by Jayson Tatum author of 34 points, won 99-116 at the Miami Heat and thus avoided elimination at the end of the 4th meeting of the final of the Eastern Conference of the NBA championship, Tuesday in Florida. Miami only leads 3 wins to 1. The 5th meeting will be played Thursday in Boston.

Back to the wall, the Celtics are still breathing but must chain three consecutive successes (none of the 150 teams led 3-0 in NBA history has won their series) to hope to challenge Denver in the final from June 1. The Heat therefore remain in favorable waivers to try to play a seventh final, with the objective of winning a fourth league title (after 2006, 2012 and 2013).

With 9 points behind at the start of the 3rd quarter (61-52), Boston’s situation seemed badly started on Tuesday. Then, the green machine got carried away and Tatum (14/22 on shots, 11 rebs, 7 assists) acted as a locomotive in the third quarter. His 14 points largely contributed to the breakaway of the Bostonians (79-88) who inflicted a 23-38 on the Floridians. They only returned 8 of their 23 award-winning shots against 18 of 45 for the Celtics.

With a remarkable overall address (51.2% success, 18/45 behind the arc), Boston then continued to widen the gap, with the contributions of Derrick White and Jaylen Brown, authors of 16 and 17 point, but also that of Grant Williams, author of 14 points and a remarkable counter on Jimmy Butler (29 pts, 9 rebs), this time without provoking the latter as he made the mistake in the second game, sounding the awakening of the star who found herself too lonely on Tuesday. The Heat returned only 8 of their 23 award-winning shots against 18 of 45 of the Celtics.
