Bitter home debut for the Girls

ROVIGO – The home debut of Baseball Softball Club Rovigo in the Serie A2 softball championship was decidedly unfortunate. On Sunday the rossoblù girls hosted Longbridge 2000 Bologna on the diamond in via Vittorio Veneto in the challenge valid for the third day of Group B. The two hard-fought challenges saw the guests prevail, albeit narrowly: 4-2 in game one and 3 -2 in race two. For the people of Polesine it was the classic bad day.

Things were also complicated by the strong wind, a variable to which the Emilians managed to adapt quickly, unlike a Rovigo who often appeared in difficulty. Disappointment above all for a game one that saw the landlords lead 2-0 only to then undergo a comeback from Longbridge.
The rossoblù “Girls” were aiming for their first home match to significantly move up the standings after the initial draw on the Castionese field and the following rest session. But there’s no need to worry too much, since even last season the Rovigos started the season at a slow trot and then launched into the extraordinary comeback that took them to the playoffs and, therefore, to the national category final during the summer.

Also on Sunday, the Cadets of baseball’s Serie C took to the field. The second success in three matches arrived on the Tassina diamond against Ozzano Virtus.
