During each year, the specialized portal, Baseball America, analyzes the talent of the Minor League system with an emphasis on the best prospects but also taking into account the depth of the organization’s prospect ranges.
Regarding his first place, it is worth mentioning that, from 1984 to 2020, the Orioles never exceeded eighth place. Baltimore moved up to seventh in 2021, placed fourth last year, and now entered the season on top.
The Orioles became the 19th different team to lead the aforementioned talent ranking.

Last year, the Seattle Mariners led the farm system with Julio Rodriguez and George Kirby at the helm.
The Tampa Bay Rays were ranked #1 in 2020 and 2021. The San Diego Padres were ranked #1 in 2019 and the Atlanta Braves led with the #1 rank in 2017 and 2018.
Which translates into recent mid-range success for some. However, this season for Baltimore is being successful, so much so that they have the third best record in all of the Major Leagues (34-20).
The Baltimore Orioles currently have Jackson Holliday as their best prospect in their farm system. Then he has Colton Cowser and to close the top-3 is Jordan Westburg.

In addition, as well-known Latino pieces that could make the leap in the coming years/months is the Dominican catcher, Samuel Basallo.
Another well-regarded Latino is the Cuban, César Prieto. The infielder is hitting .360 with 17 RBIs and four home runs in 164 at-bats. It would not be strange to see César in at least the predecessor category to the Majors before the end of the 2023 campaign.
