Two players in the Balmanian association world, Jean-Marie Debove and Vincent Denhez, have just received the bronze medal for Youth, Sports and Associative Commitment. This badge highlights people who have distinguished themselves in the service of physical education and sports, but also youth movements or socio-educational activities. President and founder of the Balma Arc Club (BAC), Vincent Denhez has been involved in the development of associative archery for 26 years. Long secretary of the BAC, Jean-Marie Debove, also a founding member of the club, has devoted his time to associations for 27 years.
Among the top 5 in Occitania, the Balma archery club currently has 120 archers. Its results are up to the commitment of its leaders, with in particular the accession to the 1st division for the women’s team in 2014 and the participation in the European Championship for the men’s 1st division team in 2016. Also, the BAC won the Excellence label from the FFTA (French Archery Federation) in 2022. This title rewards the solid structure of the club, which allows regular training to be held in good conditions. “We are lucky to have a heated and, above all, well-lit gymnasium. This is essential for practicing archery correctly”, explained Vincent Denhez. The BAC also emphasizes disabled sports.
