Janne is a welcome sports star at Special Sports. She is almost always happy and gets along with everyone. In her wheelchair she has already amazed many with her sporting qualities. It is striking how well she can throw balls and how easily she scores with basketballs. By the way, don’t underestimate the speed she develops in her wheelchair!
At Special Sports, various sports and games are played full of enthusiasm and fun. Basketball, ball throwing, dancing, hockey, boxing, badminton, tennis, ring exercises and much more. Nothing is mandatory, (almost) everything is allowed. Everyone sports at their own level and during every lesson new challenges are taken on if possible.
Vek-Wik also teaches sports/movement for people with a physical and/or visual impairment on Wednesday afternoons (from 3.45 pm to 4.45 pm). Here too, in addition to the sporting event, social contacts and having fun are central
Every Monday evening from 19:00 to 20:00 Janne works out in the gym of the De Bonte Veer community centre. And from last January there is an extra hour of Special Sports on Wednesday afternoons from 4:45 pm to 5:45 pm.
You are welcome to come and watch and if you want, you can also participate directly. The first two trial lessons are free.
More and more sports enthusiasts from West Friesland are joining sports with a disability at Vek-Wik. Everyone from West Friesland (all ages) can register for this.
