Asensio knocks down a tough Getafe and Real Madrid breathes for Camavinga (1-0)

A loner both of Marco Asensio allowed the Real Madrid get the win in a mediocre match against a Getafe who was risking his life in the Santiago Bernabeu. Camavinga’s injury in the final stretch of the game left the Santiago Bernabéu speechless.

With his eyes on the Etihad since the first battle ended last Tuesday, the Italian coach Carlo Ancelotti put four starting theorists in the eleven. Too many, in a duel in which only honor was at stake and a second position that sounds laughable to many. Courtois, Fede Valverde, Militao and Camavinga. He gave the opportunity from the beginning to players who deserve it like Tchouaméni, Marco Asensio, Ceballos, Lucas Vázquez or Nacho or to others who were returning from injury such as Mendy. The eleven was completed by an Eden Hazard who once again threw an opportunity overboard.

In the first part andl Getafe was better. More intense, with great pressure and making the field very small with the lines very close together, Bordalás’ men had more arrivals and handcuffed a Madrid that was unable to even touch a single ball in the opposite area. Getafe, who he missed his killer Enes Unal -sanctioned-, he did not have enough pause or clarity in the last meters to hurt Madrid.

After the break, Ancelotti began to get more headlines and the scenario changed. they entered Kroos, Modric and Vinícius -besides Mariano- and Getafe began to feel tired. Despite the fact that the first two arrivals after the break were signed by Bordalás’s team -a good shot by Juan Iglesias made Courtois shine- it was Madrid that began to control the game. With a different rhythm of circulation -fundamental to the work of Kroos- and overflowing for the first time against the solid Azulona defense thanks to the talent of Vinícius in one on one. It was another manual resource against closed defenses that knocked Getafe down. Marco Asensio received from Lucas, prepared his missile and with a hard shot and some luck -it’s Maksimovic- he opened the can and finished the game.

Bordalás’s team tried to react, but the goal against and the changes -the modifications he made from the bench did not sit well with him- left a team that, if they had won at the Bernabéu, would have taken a giant step in the fight for salvation after the defeats in Almería and Cádiz. They could not add the azulones that paid for the speculation in the second part, but at least they get good feelings to endorse the team’s improvement after the win last week against Celta in Bordalás’ first home game.

Madrid, who was able to score the second in various actions such as Vinícius being disallowed for offside or a header from Marco Asensio after a spectacular cross with the outside of Toni Kroos that Soria took with an impressive save, finished the process with a dire news. Camavinga received a very ugly entry behind Juan Iglesias who made him hurt for his right knee. He limped off on his own foot and left a crowd silent that prayed that Ancelotti would not pay dearly for the temerity of putting starting theorists in contention against a team that arrived at the Bernabéu with the knife between teeth

The first explorations that they did to the Frenchman on the bench are reassuring. It just seems like a blow that shouldn’t stop him from reaching Manchester’s final battle against City on Wednesday. The unnecessary risk that Ancelotti took seems that he will be left in a tremendous scare.
