[미디어타임즈=김무욱 기자] It was belatedly known that an off-duty firefighter who was playing badminton in Daegu saved a female cardiac arrest patient who had collapsed while exercising with CPR.

Daegu Northern Fire Station 119 Rescue Team Manager Park Mun-gyu visited the Daegu Badminton Center with an acquaintance around 7:30 pm on the 10th (Wednesday).

While playing badminton as usual, I found Mr. A (30s, female) who collapsed with a thud. At first she thought she had slipped, but after seeing the cramp and the surroundings, she decided it was serious and approached her patient.

The patient, who had been moving, lost strength for an instant, his face suddenly turned blue, and he stopped breathing. The patient’s younger brother and the surroundings were notified that he was in cardiac arrest, and with the start of CPR, he requested that they call 119 to inform them that he was also in cardiac arrest.

Fortunately, after 40 seconds of CPR, he was able to breathe, and it was confirmed that blood color returned quickly, and his life was saved.

Mr. A, who regained breathing and consciousness, was transferred to the hospital and is known to be living a healthy life now.

Park Mun-gyu of the fire brigade said, “I once again felt that CPR is the most important thing to save the life of a cardiac arrest patient.” .
