Amorebieta prepares for a new date with history

Amorebieta will be bluer than ever this Saturday. The town is already preparing to live what they trust will be another historic day in this small town with just over 19,000 inhabitants, which is one step away from placing its team in the Second Division again. A feat. The atmosphere was already guaranteed this Saturday in Urritxe, with all the tickets sold for days. But to give “one last push” to Haritz Mujika’s team, the Zornotzarra council has organized various events throughout the day.

“What we are going to achieve is incredible”, highlighted the mayor Andoni Agirrebeitia, who appeared together with the president of the club Jon Larrea, accompanied by the different political groups with representation in the municipality. “We want it to be a historic day and for all corners to dress in blue,” he commented, issuing an invitation to all citizens to join the previous party.

«We will be able to meet in Urritxe, in the bars, txokos, and zornotzarra houses, to push the team every minute in their fight for promotion. Amorebieta will be with you. We are proud of our team and I am sure that you will achieve victory”, added the first mayor of Zornotzarra.

The program of events prepared for the preview of Amorebieta-Nástic includes a play area for children, which will be installed in Plaza Arraibi. There will be football tables, a football simulator and video consoles, among other activities. In the afternoon, the El Despiste fanfare will be in charge of animating the streets of Zornotzarra and guiding the fans to Urritxe.

Don’t jinx the game

«This type of act is welcome so that the whole town can enjoy it. Each time we have the goal closer and hopefully it will give us a boost to put the icing on the cake, ”said a very nervous Jon Larrea. The blue president is confident that all these forecasts made will not jinx the party. “If you’re superstitious, you don’t like these things very much,” he admitted. “We have one last step left and we want to achieve it on Saturday. And if not, well, we’ll have one more chance,” he asserted, trying to calm himself down.

“We haven’t achieved anything yet. We have done a great job but we need to finish it off », he pointed out. If, as everyone wishes, it happens and Amorebieta achieves that new promotion to professional football, the party will continue through the streets of the town. Once again, the fanfare will depart from Urritxe to the town hall square, which will be the epicenter of the celebrations. “We will give a well-deserved reception to the club and the players, who will come out on the balcony to say hello”, explained Andoni Agirrebeitia. “It will be an incredible moment.”
