American Football – Berlin – Royals, Adler and Rebels start in 44th football season – sport

Berlin (dpa / bb) – With the new edition of last year’s final, the American footballers of the Potsdam Royals start the new season of the German Football League (GFL). On Saturday, the runners-up will open the 44th season of the national premier league with a guest appearance at defending champions Schwäbisch Hall Unicorns (5 p.m.). At the same time, the local derby in the GFL Nord between the Berlin Adler and the Berlin Rebels begins in the Berlin Poststadion.

All three teams have ambitious goals and want to reach the playoffs. The clubs have strengthened the squad of players and changed the coaching staff. The Adler had reached the quarter-finals in the previous season as a promoted team, in which they were eliminated by the eventual champions from Schwäbisch Hall.
