Agenda of outings: what to do this weekend from May 26 to 28 in Saint-Pierre-et-Miquelon?

Like every Friday, the editorial staff of Saint-Pierre-et-Miquelon La 1ère offers you some ideas for outings. Sport, concert, cinema, there will be plenty to do this weekend.

This weekend of May 26 to 28 promises to be eventful. The archipelago will vibrate to the rhythm of the music of several concerts, but also by sport.

This Friday evening, AC/DC fans will be able to immerse themselves in the rock atmosphere thanks to the group Ruff Edge. Popular in Canada, they stop in the archipelago for a concert at the sports hall of the Center Culturel et Sportif.

For latecomers, there are still places available.

Another musical performance and of a completely different style: that of the group “Rube and Rake”. The duo will play Saturday, May 27 from 8:30 p.m. at the Bar à Quai, where tickets are still on sale.

For the record, one of the singers is from Saint-Jean in Newfoundland. The other from British Columbia. They continue their tour in Canada and just like Ruff Edge, it is in Saint-Pierre-et-Miquelon that they have decided to play.

Marie Paturel has also met them:

Tomorrow evening, Miquelon will also come alive with the Bringue’Baleurs concert at 8:30 p.m. at the church. This is a traditional group that aims to safeguard intangible cultural heritage. Their repertoire consists of various pieces of traditional music of French, Acadian, Canadian and local origin.

This weekend will be rich in sporting events. In Saint-Pierre, Le Cochonnet Saint-Pierrais organizes a petanque tournament. Open to all, it will be done by teams.

Registration will be on site from 1:30 p.m. Saturday. Draw and games start at 2 p.m. A contribution of five euros will be requested from participants.

The other sports news is happening in Miquelon with football at 11 a.m. At 2:45 p.m., ASM receives ASIA at the Stade de l’Avenir. This is the match that marks the opening of the senior championship.

ASIA will also face ASSP, the defending champions, on Wednesday May 31 at 7 p.m.

Fans of the “Fast and Furious” saga will be delighted. The tenth part is screened on Saturday evening at the Cultural and Sports Center. Dom Toretto and his “family” will face an enemy who will emerge from the mists of the past. The latter will try to destroy everything the main character cares about.

As part of the nature festival, children can have fun making musical instruments with natural elements. The workshop takes place at the premises of “la mie des mots” and is aimed at children aged six to nine.

In the afternoon, 6-10 year olds can build an insect hotel in the garden of France Nature Environnement.

There will be archery with the association “La Flèche Boréale”. It offers a nature trail with 3D targets.

Open to all, you must have your own shooting equipment and know how to “crapahute”. A pair of boots is recommended.

The course is located behind the stand of “La Flèche Boréale”, route de Savoyard. See you Sunday at 2:30 p.m.

And then this little test before the 25 km of Miquelon with the spring race. Several distances are offered: 21 km, 10 km and 5 km relay from 12 years old. The start will be given at 9:30 am from the athletics track.

Registration can be done from 8:30 a.m. to 9:15 a.m. at La Foulée des Îles. A medical certificate is required.
