A setback without consequences for Quebec

In a game with no real stakes for them, the Quebec Remparts suffered a 4-2 loss to the Peterborough Petes on Tuesday night at the Memorial Cup tournament presented in Kamloops.

Patrick Roy’s team already had its ticket to the final, which will be played on Sunday evening. For their part, the Petes (1-2) avoided elimination and will find themselves in Thursday night’s tiebreaker game against the loser of the game between Seattle and Kamloops on Wednesday night.

Three of the Petes’ four goals were the result of errors or misfortunes by the Remparts. Their fourth goal ousted William Rousseau, who had nothing to be ashamed of. Quentin Miller took over, he who hadn’t seen action since the last game of the regular season when he shut out the Océanic, 1-0 in a shootout, in Rimouski.

James Malatesta and Nathan Gaucher scored the goals for the Remparts who, like the day before, were outshot by 36 against 28.
