A National Women’s Basketball Team faced Greece at Ahmet Cömert Sports Hall as part of the preparations for the FIBA 2023 European Championship. The Fairies of the Crucible won the fight with a score of 90-75.
The first half was competitive
Starting the game well, Greece finished the first period ahead 23-11 with baskets from Stamolamprou, Fasoula and Bosgana.
Starting the second period well, the guest team increased the lead to 15 points (16-31) in the 13th minute with the baskets they found from outside shots. Putting its weight on the game with Tilbe Şenyürek’s high-level performance, the National Team went ahead 41-40 in the 19th minute and went ahead 48-46 in the locker room. Tilbe Şenyürek scored 22 points in the first half of the match.
Nationals won by 15 points.
Carrying its effective struggle into the second half of the match, the crescent-star team did not give its opponent a chance to score much with its tough defense, and scored with Meltem Yıldızhan in offense and entered the last quarter 67-54 ahead.
A National Team, which was in control of the game in the last period and did not allow its opponent to close the gap, won the competition 90-75.
The crescent-star team will play a friendly match against Czechia on Thursday, May 25, Latvia on Friday, May 26 and Germany on Saturday, May 27.
