This Sunday, the judokas were able to enjoy a special session with Lasha Gujejiani, named best coach this year. This Georgian coach notably trains the world number one in the under 100 kg category, Ilia Sulamanidze, who was also traveling to Pont-à-Mousson for this seminar.

The course was organized jointly by the Grand Est Judo League and the Mussipontain club thanks to a partnership with a German equipment manufacturer. It was he who brought in one of his sportsmen under contract and his trainer. Two training sessions were offered, one in the morning for the cadets, juniors and adults, the other in the afternoon for the youngest and the youngest.

“It’s a course that is technically and humanly interesting, says Carlito Deutzer, technical director of the Pont-à-Mousson club. We introduce traditional Georgian judo which has its specificities. »

“We wanted young people to see another judo, adds Yannick Fousse, technical director of the Grand Est league. It’s a chance to have these two Georgian champions. »

Between 80 and 100 judokas registered to participate in this seminar. “The young people had sparkling eyes”, confided Carlito Deutzer.

For Ilia Sulamanidze, this meeting was a first. The language barrier was not a problem: “When we have common knowledge, you can easily give advice. »
