A dramatic finish awaits the second football league. Both Vyškov and Líšeň are fighting for promotion Football | Sports | Brno Gossip

The second football league offers dramatic plots two rounds before the end of the competition. The tension promises a fight for relegation and the play-off spot, for which two South Moravian teams are fighting. Both Vyškov and Líšeň are thus feeding the hope that in the event of relegation of Zbrojovka, an elite competition will remain in South Moravia.

The national league is currently dominated by Karviné footballers, who have a four-point lead with two matches before the end of the league. The procedure will most likely not miss them. The battle for the other two medal positions, which guarantee a playoff, is much more complicated. Vyškov, which is second with 48 points, is best suited for attractive matches with the worst first league teams. In addition, with wards Jan Kameník, who took over the club a month ago from Jan Trousil, is in excellent form. Most recently, Vyškové won over B team Sigma Olomouc 2:0 and scored their third win in the last four matches.

“We have it well played out. The ball is now in our court. If the victory is to be meaningful, we must win it with Jihlava and then in Chrudim,” said coach Kameník, under whose leadership Vyškov won ten out of twelve possible points and thus fulfills the ambitious pre-season plans of the African owner.

Příbram has one point less than the total from the district South Moravian city. Central Bohemia has been doing well lately. They beat Opava, threatened with relegation, and lastly Jihlava. The lottery also gives the people of Central Bohemia optimism. At home, they will compete against Spartan B team, and they will play the last match of the competition on the field of Táborska, which is in the quiet middle of the table. In the event that Příbramští succeed by three points in both cases, they will secure a play-off. In the opposite case, Brno from Líšné claim the play-off spot, as they also lose a point to Příbram.

The fox is fighting, but it may not be enough

Líšeň applied for matches with first league teams thanks to a home win over Třinec, which made us forget the lackluster performances from the last rounds. The people of Brno lost the duel at Sparta, they left Prostějov without and only drew with struggling Opava. Now coach Valachovič’s players have a vision of success in the form of a playoff. The club has not played here yet. Last year, Brno lost participation only in the last round. Therefore, they now hope to play the matches for promotion.

Líšeň will play the last two matches at the home of Slavia B and will welcome home the strong Dukla, who lost their hope of a better position after an unsuccessful autumn. Unlike Vyškov or Příbrami, however, the modest club from the suburbs of Brno is not particularly eager for promotion. “If we win promotion, we will consider whether we would enter the first league,” the president of Lišeň had already stated earlier Karel You’re chillingwho had previously agreed with the municipality that, in case of promotion, Líšeň will play home matches in Srbská Street, where Zbrojovka plays.

Armory is afraid of falling

The conclusion of the competition, in which Třinec, Opava, Slavia B and Jihlava are playing for relegation, is also closely monitored by Zbrojovka from Brno. The latter is in the fourteenth position of the top league and it is clear that relegation and, in the best case, a playoff cannot be avoided. Brno has duels ahead of it in Teplice and at home with Zlín, which will probably bring a fight for bare survival. If Brno do not fall directly, they will face the South Moravian derby or a rematch with Příbramí, which Zbrojovka lost to in a playoff four years ago.

“It’s a hackneyed phrase, but we have to take it game by game, not count, not look back at anyone. They are two tough games, but if we manage them, we will be in the playoffs. We have it in our power. We mustn’t keep saying it will come next time, we have to do it now and we have to do it well.” said the stopper of Zbrojovka Jan Headwho, like his teammates, believes in saving.
