6:1 against Tornesch – 1st women get the Hamburg Cup for the first time

After the 7:1 win in the internal semifinals against the 2nd women, our Kiezkickerinnen reached the Hamburg Cup final for the third time. In the They lost 3-1 to Bergedorf 85 in the final on May 1, 2016, and then 2-1 to Bramfelder SV in May 2018. In the third attempt, it should now work with the cup win and the associated first participation in the DFB Cup. But it shouldn’t be easy, as the lower-class final opponents Union Tornesch showed in the semi-finals how strong they are. BThe 1. Frauen of Hamburger SV won 11:10 on penalties after a 0:3 deficit and threw the big favorites out of the cup. An exciting finale was to be expected.

The framework conditions could not have been better: pgreat weather, a new record crowd for a Hamburg women’s cup final and therefore the best atmosphere. Our team, loudly supported by more than 3000 FCSP fans, got off to a better start and took an early lead. Janice Hauschild served Tabea Schütt with a ball from the left into the penalty area, Frei in front of Union goalkeeper Alicia Bautz completed Schütt from eight meters – the 1-0 (5th). Nina Philipp, who played her last game in an FCSP jersey, missed the second goal with a header from Annie Kingman’s cross, Bautz just managed to deflect the ball around the post (9′).

The Tornescher women kept looking for a way forward, but they couldn’t crack the FCSP’s defence. At the other end, Julia Hechtenberg took a shot from the edge of the box and Bautz was there to follow up (17′). The Kiezkicker girls determined the game and had the next big chance. Schütt just missed her second goal, her shot from 17 meters smacked the top of the bar (20′). As a result, the brown and whites mostly let the ball run well, but there were no further goals.

In the final phase of the first half, Kingman volleyed a ball that was deflected too short, but aimed far too high (40′). A little later, however, the 2:0! Again Hauschild brought the ball from the left into the middle to Schütt. However, this no longer touched the ball, which goalkeeper Bautz was probably too surprised about. She couldn’t prevent the ball from spinning over the line (44′). Kingman narrowly missed the third goal in a corner (45+2), then the half-time whistle sounded.

Tabea Schütt keeps her nerves in the fifth minute and overcomes Union goalkeeper Alica Bautz.

Kin Koschmieder and Jan-Philipp Kalla did not make any changes for the second 45 minutes, and the Tornesche team also returned to the dressing room with the same personnel. Our team continued to dominate the game and continued to play happily forward. Schütt made a lot of speed from the left and penetrated into the penalty area, but her pass to Nina Philipp, who had run with her, was too imprecise (49th). Hauschild’s pass to Julia Hechtenberg 60 seconds later was all the more precise and the top scorer completed the goal from ten meters to make it 3-0 (50′).

Was that the preliminary decision? No, because the Tornescherinnen managed to score the goal immediately. Josefin Lutz scored well worth seeing from almost 23 meters, the ball smacked the left inner post and wriggled in the net. Tara Zimmermann had no chance to defend – only 3:1 (52nd). Back over to the other side: Schütt asserted himself strongly on the right side and crossed to Philipp in an exemplary manner. But she failed from 14 meters to Bautz (53rd). A little later Bautz was also on the post with a shot from Schütt (54th).

Hechtenberg was then brought down in the penalty area after heavy dribbling, and Schütt took the penalty that was due. But she only hit the post – so it was 3: 1 (68th). Tornesch was still in the game and so Union coach Artur Wilk reacted with two offensive changes (70′). But our Kiezkickerinnen still had more of the game and more importantly: they hardly let anything burn on the defensive. Also because they disturbed Tornesch early on in the build-up game, so that the Union women hardly ever got over the middle line.

The final quarter of an hour had already begun when Hauschild made the decision with her second goal. After a perfect cross from substitute Verena Mannes, she headed in – 4:1 (79th). It almost got a little more exciting, but Zimmermann went very long after a shot by Lutz and just managed to deflect the ball around the right post (82′). On the other side, Kingman took advantage of Tornescherinnen’s carelessness and hit the left corner from seven meters – the 5:1 (83rd). Emma Frings and Iljana Kljajić, who had just come on as substitutes, then ensured the final point. Frings sped past her opponent and unselfishly crossed to Kljajić. She hit the right corner from ten meters – 6: 1 (88th).

Almost 2,500 FCSP fans celebrated the team before the final whistle and when the final whistle blew, the cheering of our local soccer team knew no bounds. The entire bank ran onto the field, all the players hugged each other and cheered the FCSP fans on winning the Hamburg Cup for the first time. Congratulations, you have more than earned the cup victory!

“I was a player in the finals in 2016 and 2018, unfortunately it didn’t work out both times. Now that we are coaches, we have finally won the cup. It was a great setting and a great atmosphere, it was a special experience for all players. We made history today by qualifying for the DFB Cup. Maybe then we’ll be lucky, play at home and fill the booth,” said Kim Koschmieder after the game. “I can’t add much to that. A little bit about the game: the early goal played our cards in the right direction, as did the second goal shortly before the break. There can’t be a better time to take the lead and extend it. Overall, we played more and, with the support of the fans behind us, we pulled it off so effortlessly,” added Jan-Philipp Kalla.
