World champion Bagnaia crashes, Spaniard Rins rushes to victory in US | Motorcycle GP

The third Grand Prix of the season was a prey for Alex Rins on his Honda. He benefited from a crash by Francesco Bagnaia. The reigning world champion was leading when he crashed halfway through the race. Marco Bezzecchi remains leader in the World Cup standings for the time being.

It had been a while since Honda-LCR could taste victory again. More specifically from the GP in Argentina in 2018. Alex Rins’ win was therefore a huge boost for the team.

Rins had not started the race in pole position. It was for Bagnaia after his win in the sprint race yesterday. But the world champion didn’t have his day and crashed.

This allowed Rins to race to victory ahead of Luca Marini, Valentino Rossi’s half-brother. Third place was for Fabio Quartararo.
