Betclic ELITE – In a late match of the 24th day of Betclic Elite, SLUC Nancy suffered the law of Dijon this Tuesday evening (78-91). The Nancy never recovered from a disastrous start to the match. The Burgundians were carried by their address and extinguished each attempt to return the promoted thanks to a duo Gregor Hrovat – Markis McDuffie of fire.

Beaten by Paris Basketball after a tough fight on Saturday evening (99-91), SLUC Nancy was keen to redeem itself this Tuesday with the reception of JDA Dijon. Unfortunately for the team of Sylvain Lautié, it was missed since the Nancy lost at home (78-91).

Thanks to a superb start, the JDA Dijon quickly took control in this match against a Nancy team with a lack of address. Back from suspension after serving one game, Gregor Hrovat (20 points, 4 rebounds, 6 assists and 5 steals for 27 evaluation) carried his team and allowed his people to take off after ten very offensive minutes (12-27). If the Slovenian international shone in this first half, his American teammate Markis McDuffie (19 points, 6 rebounds and 1 assist for 16 evaluation) also greatly contributed to the very beautiful score offered by the team of Nenad Markovic in these first twenty minutes. Even if the locals reacted during this second quarter, reducing the gap from -20 to -12, it was the Burgundians who returned to the locker room in the lead (33-45, 20′).

A JDA Dijon full of mastery

As in the first quarter, Nenad Markovic’s players recited their basketball. SLUC Nancy conceded a 9-2 in three minutes and was badly left behind by a Dijon team sure of their strength. Sylvain Lautié’s men tried to resist thanks to a few flashes signed Clement Fresh (12 points and 4 rebounds) and Caleb Walker (22 points) but in vain. Jeanne retained a 14-point lead at the start of the last ten minutes of the match (56-70, 30′). After a very defensive last quarter, Dijon controlled the end of the game and made sure to glean another success away from home.

A precious victory for the Dijonnais who consolidate their place for the playoffs and still remain firmly attached to their 5th place in the standings. With this new defeat, SLUC Nancy remains 16th in the standings and has only one victory ahead of the first relegation player, Élan Béarnais.
