The 2022 season of the NFL it ended with Kansas City’s victory over the Philadelphia Eagles in the big event of Super Bowl LVII. Therefore, the order of the first round of the 2023 NFL Draft has been fully defined.

HOW DOES THE 2023 NFL DRAFT WORK?

The Draft is the recruitment carried out by the 32 franchises with the objective of selecting the best prospects that come from college football in the United States. During this stage, it is divided into 224 selections through 7 rounds, where eligible players will have to spend at least 3 years playing in the NCAAF (National Collegiate Athletic Association).

In addition, the place 1 to 18 will be positioned by the one with the worst and the best record and that, in general, has not played in the Playoffs; from 19th position is established based on their elimination in the tournament: first in the wild card round, then in the divisional round, the conference finals, the loser of the Super Bowl and the winner of the Vince Lombardi Trophy.

The Chicago Bears were the worst team of the 2022-23 campaign in this edition and would have gotten the first pick, however, a change happened with the Carolina Panthers; therefore, the last franchise to select will be the champion Kansas City Chiefs.

Finally, it is important to mention that in the first round there will be 31 selections and not 32, since the league took away the possibility of choosing the Miami Dolphins after contacting Sean Payton and Tom Brady a few years ago, since both had contracts with their teams at that time, for which they received a punishment.

WHEN WILL THE 2023 NFL DRAFT BE HELD?

On this occasion, the Draft will take place at Union Station in Kansas City, Missouri, from Thursday, April 27 to Saturday, April 29, 2023.
