What will it take for Seattle to pick a quarterback in the first round?

We review the scenarios that are at stake for the Seahawks with the fifth overall pick of the 2023 NFL Draft

SEATTLE — If the Seattle Seahawks They’re really interested in drafting a quarterback at the top of the field. 2023 NFL Draft, they are acting in an unconventional way. The idea that the Seahawks drafting a quarterback high is based not on necessity, but on an unfamiliar draft position. So they could get a chance at a quarterback of the caliber they’ve usually left by the time they pick, though three other quarterback-needy teams are standing behind them and there’s speculation that the Arizona Cardinals they could trade their third overall shift.

Hooker, Kiper’s fifth quarterback, would be ranked higher had he not torn his ACL last season. Mike Tannenbaum of ESPNformer general manager of the New York Jetsstill believes enough in Hooker to project him for fifth overall, if he were in command of the Seahawks. Part of Tannenbaum’s logic is that Hooker it would continue to be rehabilitated in 2023 on a computer that does not require it to start immediately.

A similar notion has been applied with the Seahawks y Richardson, given the way his game could require at least a season of refinement before he’s ready to take the field. The contract of Smith has contributed to the belief that Seahawks might draft a quarterback early, since it’s structured in a way that Seattle I could go on without him at the end of 2023 with digestible penalties against the salary cap, in case he suffers a regression after a breakout season.

Smith would be open to a quarterback pick in the draft, according to Carroll.

With the renewal of its seven forwards far from being completed, letting defensive players like Carter, Tyree Wilson o Will Anderson Jr. In that position it would mean ignoring the possibility of adding that kind of explosive presence to the front, something they urgently need. For a team low on cap space and cash, it would also be an inefficient use of precious financial resources to pour first-round money into a quarterback who would be stuck in a backup role as a rookie, if not longer.
