What do the Mavericks need to be in the NBA playoffs?

The door isn’t completely closed on the Dallas Mavericks’ playoff hopes.

There’s still a way to potentially play some more basketball in the NBA play-in tournament and his hopes of extending his season got a boost with a Kyrie Irving-led victory over the Kings on Wednesday.

Oklahoma City (38-42), currently in 10th place claiming the final play-in tournament spot in the Western Conference, fell to Golden State on Tuesday.

Dallas (38-42) currently ranks 11th.

With the Thunder holding the tiebreaker, Dallas must win the remaining two games and Oklahoma must lose one of its remaining two games.

Minnesota (40-40), which sits ninth, won Tuesday, so Dallas can’t get past them because the Timberwolves lead by three games and own the tiebreaker.

Here are the remaining games for Dallas and Oklahoma City:

Mavericks

Friday, April 7: in Chicago (38-42)

Sunday, April 9: host San Antonio (20-59)

Thunder

Thursday, April 6: at Utah (36-43)

Sunday, April 9: Host Memphis (50-30)
