In the Premier League, Liverpool and Arsenal split the cake in the top match of the 30th matchday. The leader was 0-2 after half an hour, but Liverpool still fought alongside. It was a long wait for Roberto Firmino’s equalizer.
Sunday afternoon was a highlight, mainly because of tradition, because Liverpool is going through a bumpy season and that was also highlighted in the first half hour.
Arsenal were lord and master at Anfield and Martinelli put the visitors in a seat early on. The leader continued mercilessly and a little over half way through the 1st half Jesus doubled Arsenal’s lead – how could it be otherwise on Easter – with a striking header.
Liverpool was in the ropes, Salah’s connection goal fell somewhat out of the blue. After the break, the Egyptian left the 2-2 from the spot. However, there was still a point for the home team. Substitute Firmino headed Alexander-Arnold’s cross against the ropes in the closing minutes.
In the standings, Arsenal now has 6 points more than Manchester City, but the number 2 still has a game credit.
